چکیده
A semi-distributed hydrological model was used for runoff estimation in the Okavango-Omatako catchment Namibia. The configured a 31-year period from 1985 to 2015. Subsequently, calibration and validation processes followed using SUFI-2 algorithm. For evaluating simulation, two methods were used: i. prediction uncertainty measured by P-factor R-factor ii. Model performance indicators, that is, Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE), Coefficient of determination (R2), Percent bias (PBIAS), Residual variation (RSR). achieved 0.77 0.68 while attained 1.31 1.82 validation, respectively. following indicators evaluate through results respectively; NSE with 0.82 0.80, R2 0.84 0.89, PBIAS achieving -20≤PBIAS≤-1.1 RSR performing 0.42 0.44. All indices very good ratings apart which rated as satisfactory. semi-arid characteristics together relatively flat terrain features justified need evaluation discharge data our study region. SWAT demonstrated reasonable modelling streamflow high low flows adequately captured. Consequently, this necessary further investigations into impacts climate change on scarce water resources highlighting challenges applications area climatic regime other similar regions globally improvements. Automated Methods for Estimating Baseflow from Streamflow Records in a Semi Arid Watershed
Understanding of the runoff generation processes is important in understanding the magnitude and dynamics ofgroundwater discharge. However, these processes continue to be difficult to quantify and conceptualize. In this study, two digital filter based separation modules, the Recursive filtering method (RDF) and a generalization of therecursive digital filter (GRDF) were1991–2002 in the Hableh Ro...
متن کاملInfluence of Scale on SWAT Model Calibration for Streamflow
The Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) was implemented in the 281,000 ha St. Joseph River Watershed (SJRW) to investigate the influence of multiple scales on stream flow model calibration parameters (Fig.1). The relationship between model calibration parameters and associated hydrological response units (HRU) between different scales is not well understood. In this investigation, two scales were...
متن کاملUsing SWAT and SWAT-CUP for hydrological simulation and uncertainty analysis in arid and semi-arid watersheds (Case study: Zoshk Watershed, Shandiz, Iran)
The aims of this project was to assess the capability of SWAT model and SWAT-CUP software in hydrological simulation and to evaluate the uncertainty of SWAT model in estimating runoff in arid and semi-arid watersheds. Model calibration and uncertainty analysis were performed using the Sequential Uncertainty Fitting (SUFI2) algorithm. In the stage of calibration and validation of water flow, per...
متن کاملUsing the IHACRES model to investigate the impacts of changing climate on streamflow in a semi-arid basin in north-central Iran
Understanding the variations of streamflow of rivers is an important prerequisite for designing hydraulic structures as well as managing surface water resources in basins. An overview of the impact of climate change on the streamflow in the Hablehroud River, the main river of a semi-arid basin in north-central Iran, is provided. Using the LARS-WG statistical downscaling model, the outputs of Ha...
متن کاملSolar Radiation Estimation from Rainfall and Temperature Data in Arid and Semi-arid Climates of Iran
Precipitation and air temperature data, only, are often recorded at meteorological stations, with radiation beingmeasured at very few weather stations, especially in developing countries. Therefore there arises a need for suitablemodels to estimate solar radiation for a completion of data sets. This paper is about an evaluation of eight models foran estimation of daily solar radiation (Q) from ...
